Alive
August 23, 2008
Alive and free,
alive at last.
Alive as the daylight’s first rays devour and chase away the dreary mist and chill sunken heavy, low and thick from a sightless blackened night of fallen dreams once lost in slumber’s lull.
Alive and soaring,
Alive once again.
Alive as midnight’s moonlight, softly glowing pale light, dances on rippling waters shimmering on a late summer’s silent eve tingling with magical enchantment calling, waiting, setting the soul in flight.
A strike of a match
August 16, 2008
From the first flickering flash,
sparkling strike of a sulfurous match.
Brilliantly bright, an amber glow burning.
Fierce and fiery flare, igniting a fevered fury.
A glimpse and a glint, a glittering flame glistening.
But beauty can be brief, in a breath, this blaze begins blistering.
Dreams and Midnight
August 9, 2008
Drawn by dream like lure,
as dream and reality mingle on lucidity’s tide washed shore.
Midnight’s soft light, candle light spell,
carnival of mysteries swirling ’round Midnight’s carousel.
While Fates and Furies gather to conspire,
Dreams and Midnight gather to retire.
A vanishing beacon
August 3, 2008
A sharply shining light strikes the corner of my eye.
A strange luminous illusion lingering,
until it vanishes as though it never was.
Again I turn away,
Again it glows.
Glowing light in the dark 3:00 am night
But it isn’t truly there,
Once I turn to face it,
All I see is night’s sightless stare.
